Table for sixty? Right this way…
Diverted grant funds pay off for the Arts Cener
A unique experience of town and gown cooperation will result in a full complement of hospitality tools for the Arts Center.

David Clifford and Christine Tanner of EMU’s Institute of Family and Community solicited donations for a combination Riverside/Parkridge Community Center grant from the federal government. That grant was not funded, leaving “local match” funds available. Clifford and Tanner got permission from the donors to work with RAC on an “outreach project.”

RAC/EMU talks led to a series of planned events in the gallery and created a “wish list” of tables and chairs to make it practical to stage events in the gallery.

That “wish list” now becomes a reality in the form of sixty padded chairs with storage racks, twelve tall cocktail tables, 12 linen tablecloths, and a commercial ice machine.

The way we wore… Costume library given to RAC
Mike and Carolyn McPherson have donated their extensive library of costuming and related art now housed in the bookshelves in the RAC administrative office. In addition to the costuming books below, the extensive collection includes books on patterns, properties, craft, calligraphy, art, and creative writing.
