A score by local composer Gerald Siclovan of Ann Arbor is also on the bill for musical fare, as is live percussion. November 16,17,18 The purpose of Holy Palooza is to have an atmosphere where people of all ages can gather to their passion in art. A wide variety of art showing different ways people can express their faith will include music, visual arts, and painting. This event can be enjoyed by all ages. December 7, 8, 9, 10 & 14, 15, 16 “A play about lies must be a comedy, because only laughter can make us recognize truths that we’re not fond of.” -Steven Dietz Matthew, a jealous actor, suspects his actress wife, Lisa, is having an affair with their director, Adrian. Or is it just the play about an affair that the three are rehearsing? Or perhaps Matthew imagines it all to have something to report to his therapist, Frank, who turns out to be Lisa’s therapist, as well. And then there’s Corey, a waitress and/or Private Eye, and... Confused yet? With more layers than an onion, Private Eyes is a comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. PTD Productions will be announcing a new season soon. Top among their considerations for 2007 is Hollywood Arms, by Carol Burnett and her daughter, Carrie Hamilton. It is an autobiographical piece about Burnett’s early life and her relationship with a very unconventional mother and grandmother. It has that “Carol Burnett touch” that people will remember from her television show December 27-30 These two premier Michigan acoustic bands aim to bring a slice of the regional roots music community back to Ypsilanti. The Ypsifolk Roots Music Festival is a series of high quality acoustic folk concerts reflecting the diversity and color of the Michigan community. Somewhere between an Ark show and Wheatland hoedown, performances will reflect roots music ranging from rural Americana to urban eclecticism, from the shores of the Great Lakes to West Africa and beyond.
