The front facade of the Riverside Arts Center (RAC) as seen from Pearl Street.

Located just to the right of the RAC is the former DTE Building, now christened the RAC Off-Center. Between a "Cool Cities" grant and the recent elevator project this facility provides additional gallery and studio space.

The new elevator tower is a contemporary element joining our two vintage buildings.

The new street-level entrance to the elevator tower means that those with limited mobility now have unobstructed access to all floors of both the Riverside Arts Center building and the Off-Center structure.

Site of a former carwash, the space to the left of the RAC has been transformed into an inviting plaza. Stairs at the rear of the plaza connect with Riverside Park.

Another view of the plaza and adjoining parking area. The colorful objects seen between the pillars are part of the "Pillars of Art" project conceived by Ypsilanti High School art teacher, Robin Evans, and crafted by her students. The six-foot tall structures celebrate the work of such famous artists as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Piet Mondrian.
